Founded by Lawrence Rafalovich, SBG Development oversees the full development process from the perspective of an owner or investor — ensuring diligent project managers approach every job with quality and cost-effective results.

We serve as development manager for each of our projects, providing consultancy, advisory services, and optimizing our existing network of relationships to maximize return on investment.

SBG spearheads all project delivery services including general construction, construction management, development, budgeting, value engineering, demolition, and renovations.

Our crew is Passive House Certified, demonstrating our commitment to building to the highest standards of energy efficiency and performance. Passive House is a rigorous building standard focused on superior comfort, indoor air quality, and significantly reduced energy use for heating and cooling.

The building has 11 stories with ceiling heights up to 10’7” and a design with 21 interlaced floors and setback terraces. Our team of seasoned construction professionals brings over 140 years of combined technical expertise across a wide range of property types — residential, commercial, landmarks, and mixed-use.

Bringing over 25 years of experience in the electrical industry, Lawrence founded Empire State Electrical Corp. in 2014. Starting as an apprentice, he worked his way up through nearly a decade of hands-on field work before serving as Director of Safety and Health at the MTA. Today he leads a team of over 140 tradespeople and 28 management staff delivering projects across New York, New Jersey, and Florida.
